    WAZE vs Google Maps

Hey guys, hope everyone had a safe & fun Halloween!
Quick question for those of you that use WAZE and/or Google maps regularly.

I'm taking a road trip from Idaho to Arkansas here in a couple weeks and wanted to get your input on these two apps as I haven't used either one in quite some time. While I know the two main routes to take without needing a map, I'd like to be able to use one of them on this trip to provide me with any short reliable detours I may be interested in, as well as any road work or construction that may be of concerning.

Since winter is fast approaching in my neck of the woods I'll be making this trip solo so I can take my time & stop along the way to capture some cool aerial footage.

From what I've heard in the past, WAZE provides some really detailed information so I'm leaning towards this one but I'd really appreciate some first hand knowledge from the pros.

Thanks for your help & I hope everyone is having a great week.

I really like both. I believe they share data, as I have run them side by side, and from what I've seen they use the same routes with same times. I used Google maps yesterday, and I arrived at my destination at the exact minute it predicted.

I like Waze for long trips. Like you said, the data is very detailed/specific, and I like how it gives you a heads up on things ahead of time (tells you a car is broken down in right lane so you can move to the left). I also like how it works with Spotify. For short trips around the city I like Google maps. I feel like it's easier to enter destinations on the fly.

I use Waze exclusively even on my way to work. I have two different routes I could take and it steers me in the right direction based on traffic. Since the info is crowd sourced by users it's usually pretty accurate. It'll even show were police may be. Not sure if ty that has made it over to Maps yet. Plus, you can download some fun voices. Whichever you use I hope you have a fun and safe trip.

What, you're not planning on having your Drone fly overhead and keep track of what's coming up?

I use Google and the traffic part seems to work ok. Most of my trips don't have good alternatives though. Maryland to NC, once you start 95 or 81 you're kind of stuck and the side roads generally aren't much help.
The DC and Baltimore area the side roads aren't much help either.

    Ha! that would be awesome!
If only my drone could provide me with a full day of battery life on a single charge the way my S8+ does, I'd be good to go.
..... some day they'll truly release some innovative battery tech to the masses.
