    ooops.. not yet
Guinness is responsible for a lot of headaches over in Ireland... and in the UK too.

I was in Germany recently, and the Swiss friend I was with insisted on making me at least try the "best" beers...
for friendship's sake, I did try... but the beverage is just too bitter for me.

Germany's beer festivals (Munich's!!) are famous, though.

Some people apparently do not go home for 3 or 4 days (probably the time it takes them to remember
where they live... ) I believe the German word to be Bierleichen (beer corpses)

Guinness used to be my favorite beer. Sadly, it is very thick and heavy. I can only have two or three before I move on.

I feel similar about wine JL. My mom is a big wine drinker, and I have tried many types and ages over the years. Beer is an acquired taste. Once you accept the bitter, and move on to actually getting to the flavor then it becomes more enjoyable. However, I cannot stand wine.

Back when I drank alcohol - 30+ years ago - my favorite beer was Anchor Steam Beer, made in San Francisco. I wonder if it's still available nationally.

Edit: It certainly is http://www.anchorbrewing.com/beer/anchor_steam - and I highly recommend it.

I'm the opposite, prefer wine over beer, but I don't drink either on a regular basis. Have to be in the mood, or right social setting, to consume any type of adult beverage. Had some wine on Thanksgiving. LOL

Fermented grapes do not put out an attractive alcohol. I can't stomach it.
