    Bing It On Challenge

So tonight every other commercial on TV was Bing vs. Google. They want you to go to Bing It On - Take the Bing versus Google Challenge. Would you bet against Bing? and you choose 5 different searches and decide which side you like the results from the best. They give you ideas for trending questions, but I think that would skew your search results because I believe Bing knows that those results would be in Bing's favor.

    I chose these 5 searches:

    1. IRS Scandal
    2. Pittsburgh Penguins
    3. Samsung Galaxy S3
    4. My local weather forecast
    5. Sunspot Cycle

Of the 5 results, I chose Bing for 1 and 3. However, I chose 3 Google results 2, 4, and 5....therefore Google wins.

I'm curious here in O.T. if anyone else wants to do the challenge and see what your results are. I'm partial to Google anyway, but wanted to give this a fair test.

Good topic, Vulcan! I took the challange and here are my results:

    1. Easy modifications for a barrel smoker - Draw
    2. Homemade fire pit designs - Bing
    3. Outback Steakhouse Bloomin' Onion recipe - Google
    4. Extended batteries for Samsung Galaxy S3 - Google
    5. Fun family things to do in Kansas City - Draw

Based on these results I'm sticking with Google!

    Wow fun little experiment

    1. Beard maintenance - google
    2. Bourbon reviews - google (just barely)
    3. Charango - draw
    4. Growing lavender - bing
    5. Tromboniscope - just got some Frenchman wearing a sombrero ha! Just kidding, Google by a long shot.

I've always hated bing but I will say it's gotten better. Hadn't used it for a long time. But it's still not google.

I will do the challenge tomorrow, but I know one thing is for sure in my experience: Bing has better earth/satellite pictures for my area. I tend to have to revert to Bing for said searches!

That I have to agree with you on. I am a geocacher, and when new ones are published I like to see the location on satellite views. Bing always has the clearest ones.

    2. c trumpet sales - Bing
    3. 2008 Dodge Dakota - Google
    4. EVGA GTX 460 - About equal. The same results were brought up for each page.
    5. family guy - About equal again. About the same results.

I just use Google. Sorry Bing!

I haven't taken the challenge in a while so I cannot list the different 5 searches I used. However, I did the challenge I chose Google 3:1 and 4:1. So for me Google is the winner. I would like to point out I agree with Vulcan when it comes to earth and map related searches.
