I just hacked my snes classic for no reason at all. Yeah, there where a few games I wanted to put on it that were not included, hence the purpose of the hack, but I mainly did it just to do it.

I played it last night prior to boxing it up for Christmas. Pretty cool little box. Totally worth $80 if you loved the snes. Totally not worth it if the snes was meh to you.

I have a six year old girl who would love a game system but I won't let her play most of any PS4 games. Too violent. Mario, by comparison, is much nicer.

I'd prefer a switch, but I think the snes classic will be fun for a while.

I'd really like the NES classic when they rerelease it. That was the game system I grew up with. We played Mario, contra, Zelda, MegaMan, Castlevania, etc for so many sleepless weekend nights when friends would sleep over. Good times. Punch out on the NES will always be fun.

Up up down down left right left right B A... Those were the days.

I like how you hacked that thing just to hack it lol. That's pretty cool that you are able to play those games with your daughter. I am sure that will be a blast for both of you. Those older games are so much better for kids like you pointed out.

    So... You gonna root?
Yeah, that was what they said. I don't use Android or Samsung pay anyways. Mainly because I don't like leaving NFC on all the time. I figure by the time I take out my phone & activate NFC, I can swipe my card & have paid already.
But yeah, I would like to try it out sometime. Funny just how many features we have on these awesome devices of ours that we simply don't utilize.

I haven't decided on root yet.... Still mulling it over.

What is your purpose for rooting? Google and company have done a very thorough job weeding out root. A lot of services don't like root. Netflix and YouTube TV are several that come to mind. Of course root has evolved and can be hidden, so it can be worked out.

Chainfire sold SuperSU, so from what I hear Magisk is the go to for most. I don't know much about it, I always used SuperSU.

Personally I'm going to leave my Note 8 unrooted. I am going to hang on to my OPO to get my flashing fix in. 😆

I'm rooted with magisk. I don't notice a difference between that and supersu. I forgot how I even did it, was unique for pixel.

I've been on the same build of purenexus for months waiting for an Oreo release. Full res backup of photos to Google makes it nice when ido factory reset. It's like I never reset

One reason to root/rom is to get latest security patches like this one. This could affect folks on WPA2 wifi. Google will patch but then you wait for Samsung or whoever to incorpo
rate the patch. The patch may never come for older devices.

Yeah that's bad stuff. Hopefully it is fixed quick. My old S3 is up the creek, thanks to Knox.

Lineage just patched it, 3 weeks before Google plans to roll out the patch:

"All official 14.1 builds built after this tweet have been patched for KRACK.
