AT&T broadband internet = teh suck

I did a speed test today over at my mother's house. The results seem pathetic to me.


AT&T broadband:





AT&T cellular from the same spot in the basement:




And they charge her over $30/mon for this garbage (she doesn't have the cheapest/slowest package). Calling tomorrow to cancel. If she's going to pay for internet, she might as well pay a little more and get something leaps and bounds better. I just wanted to share because I was floored to learn speeds this slow were still common practice these days. I've only ever had Comcast at my house, so I guess I'm used to true high speed.

Is this wifi? Wow! This is like the worst speeds ever! Those are speeds of vzw 3G! You should definatley switch your service

Yup, connected via wifi. If someone else is streaming or downloading on the network, speedtest reads 70-90 kbps. It's litterally not fast enough to support more than one user.

Comcast is getting installed tomorrow morning.
