Hi from Herts, lilttle bit of help required......

    Hi All.
Wow this S3 is far more tech than my Ace 2. Having fun sorting out its workings.

I bought it mainly for the OTG Facility to use with a Modius Dashcam's Micro SD card with recordings in MOV format, and downloaded MX Player app to view them on.

Is there a way to put a shortcut on the desktop to unmount the card instead of going via Settings, more, storage, scroll down, unmount sdcard ?? Probably not but don't know if you don't ask!!

Also, can you stop the phones start up sound? I did it somehow on the ACE but cannot seem to find out how to do this on the S3 (I also forgot how I did it on the ACE). Senior 'Moments' are now Senior 'Periods'.....

The easiest way to kill the startup sound is to turn off the ringer volume.

I use an app called silent boot. There are multiple options.

I've never worried about unmounting a flash drive from my phone. I just unplug it.

Thanks, I will see what silent boot has to offer.

Unplugging the Micro SD card caused the phone to bring up the message that the card was damaged, once I had re-formatted it it was fine. Think I will go with the long route!

    Welcome aboard

Another way to unmount the card is to turn off the phone. Which is good for it anyway 👍

Thanks for the help. Closing the camera app seems to work as well.
