    No sim, IMEI null

Hi all! I'm new to this forum. I got my S3 last month and everything went fine. Then a week ago, I can't call phone and show sim problem. but that sims work fine on other phones. So I check my IMEI by *#06# , that shows IMEI null. I haven't backup it (and don't know how to do.) So now it work as an ipod without phone function. Please help me how to do???? Thanks!

Hi Moe. Is your phone stock or rooted? If stock you will need to contact your carrier

I have the exact same problem. I just got my phone (i9305), attempted a root, it failed to mount cache, and everything got messed up. IMEI is NULL, and the SIM won't work. So now I am stuck with a device that I have no practical root access to, which also means I am incapable of fixing the issue, from what I am able to tell after looking for a solution for hours and hours. It's like I'm in phone hell.

Edit: scratch that, I managed to finally root the damn thing, but the SIM and IMEI is still broken. If it is of any interest, it's a phone bought in Norway (I have used the latest firmware for Nordic countries to try a factory reset, but it didn't help)

I should add, in case anyone else ends up in the same bind, that I followed the alternative workaround rooting solution found at the bottom of the first post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1914394

Thanks, I haven't looked at that yet. I'll give it a go.

EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED! Attatching solution for future reference.

    Solution found here
http://www.androidpt.com/index.php?/...mei-em-ingles/ (the tutorial is written in English)

It would appear the root I had used initially was meant for the i9300 which caused a conflict. Everything now works 100%!
