Virgin mobile galaxy s3 what the "F"???

When the hell is virgin mobile going to update the Samsung Galaxy s3 to Android 4.3 or Kit Kat? I mean for real we're still on 4.1!!!! I don't want an update 2 years after it came out.

Virgin Mobile is not a top tier provider in the U.S. This is one of the first top tier phones that have had on their network. Up until the S3, most of their phones were junk, kind of like their service coverage (up until the last year or so). It is also a prepaid, not post paid service (like the larger U.S. carriers). The update process is complicated, and it takes time. I must stress, the S3 is the first major phone on their network (in my opinion I should say). They might not be used to the intense requirements for updating a phone that likely has sold more for them than any other phone.

If you are in another country, then I don't know what crawled up their back side.

Welcome to the forum. Please enjoy your stay!!

In Denmark everybody is still 'officially' on 4.1.2. The 4.3 version is SLOWLY beginning to roll out right now ... but I'm not at all sure if we'll ever get KitKat on S3.

But quiet frankly I'm not that bothered - my S3 runs like a well oiled machine on 4.1

I know Virgin operates all over the place. I am still guessing that this is a large selling phone for them and they are proceeding with caution on their rollouts.

Welcome to the site. I also have a phone with Virgin and am a little peeved with the overall experience. I suppose slow updating is one of those inconveniences one buys into when they decide not to go with a major provider. Hopefully, things will pick up in the future.

My S3 is on Virgin Mobile. Back in February when my brother gave me this phone I hauled myself straight to an AT&T Center. The customer service tech popped off the back, and said it won't work, because it uses no SIM card. Gave it back to my brother, and he asked don't you have some mp3s? Put those in. I did, and I was hooked! At the time I had 2 Ford products that had the SYNC program, and was able to use the phone via Bluetooth. Then, I sold one of the vehicles, and bought a 2005 Ford 500 from my mom's estate. Now through a SCOSCHSE FM transmitter I can use the phone in the 500. Is life great or what!
