Website Logon Fails

Hello all,
New Android user here.
I have an account on a website provisioned for mobile use that requires me to log on using my name and password. Attempting to log on with my SG3 fails and the site says the most common cause is because cookies in my browser must be enabled. I checked for this option in the settings of the phone but can't find anything about cookies listed. I'm depending on my GS3 to download necessary files from this site but if I can't log on, then the web abilities of this phone are going to be entirely useless. HELP!
I have asked for help from those running the site, but apparently all the designers have retired and replaced with a bunch of kids to run it who wouldn't know there is a difference between a gigabyte and a gigahertz. Maybe I'm expecting too much from my fabulous Galaxy. Or am I?

Welcome to the Forum. Have you tried another browser?

Open up the stock browser, click on the menu button, settings, privacy & security, you'll see a box that you can check for cookies. Give that a try and let us know if that works for you. Also, as mentioned, try another browser.

I had the same issue with another forum I am on that has web access only... I couldn't get the stock browser to work no matter what I did... I downloaded Chrome and it worked the first time without changing any issues...

I must admit, I don't even know what browser this International is using, let alone know how to download and setup a different one.

Going online by tapping the globe icon I presume opens the browser, but then hitting the menu button doesn't show any provisions for settings, privacy, or security.

Chrome is probably provided by Google, but I'll need directions on how to set it up.

I really appreciate the quick responses, been sitting at computers for years, but this Android has me at a real loss on how to control it. As they say, its an entire new game for me.

With your browser open, hitting the menu button should bring up a menu that looks like this. Scroll down and hit settings and go from there.
Does this menu not appear for you? A menu like this should appear regardless of what browser you use, be it stock, Chrome, etc.


Yep, there is a bit of a learning curve coming from the iphone, blackberry, what have you, but you'll get the hang of it.

OH OK CR6, I found it by scrolling the menu up. Settings was buried down on the bottom and hidden.

The cookie provision is checked, so that is probably not why I can't log on to the site.

If that doesn't work for you, try downloading the Chrome browser as suggested earlier. Good luck!
