Garnet Red Samsung Galaxy S III for AT&T Launching on July 29th

When the Samsung Galaxy S III was first announced for the five major carriers in the United States, we reported that AT&T planned to eventually release an exclusive red version of the phone. Now they have officially outed the device and shared that it will arrive for retail on July 29th. Just like their other version, AT&T is only offering the 16GB versions of the SGS3, regardless of color. The phone will be available for the same $199.99 price as their other colors.

I'm just glad I didn't make the switch when I got the Xoom on their network. I wanted the S2, but it never materialized. So I stuck the Xoom on auto pay instead of logging in to two carriers every month to pay bills

Question: Do we really want to see another reason for people to buy a locked phone?

Better question: Do we really want to see another locked phone from Samsung?

Even better question: Do we really want Verizon to have an attractive, locked, Samsung phone that might encourage people to jump from another carrier to them, thereby reaffirming that locking phones is a Good Thing?
