I don't know that they're actually trying to pull a fast one in this case. I think their systems are set up to handle any new activations as tiered data. I think there's manual monkeying that needs to be done on their end to let folks keep their unlimited data. But ... if customers aren't savvy, you can bet they'll get taken advantage of. Peeps with unlimited data, don't let that happen to you!

Mine migrated Just fine. BUT I had to call to activate so I assume the CS replacement caught it.

wife and i ordered online on 6/26. got our phones on monday. we didnt have SIM cards with our "old" phones so new SIM cards came with the phones and had to be activated. i called int to VZW and the person i dealt with was pretty awesome in getting everything in order.

at first he said we couldnt have the unlimited DATA cuz the order date on the phones was 7/7/12 (which was wrong but to his credit that was the date on the packing slip). i laughed and aked the guy "do you really think we pre-ordered this phone 2days ago and it shipped immediately?" he laughed too and then he said "yea, i see your point. let me put you on hold for a minute" he came back in less than 2min and said "i had to get a supervisor to over-ride something but we can now activate your new phones with the unlimited DATA".

Mine just arrived and included with the packing slip was a summary of my unlimited plan. I called a robo # to activate so if someone changes my plan I'll be very surprised.

I ordered blue and it looks more like grey.

I live in a weak signal area and the S3 seems more challenged than my X. Gonna shut off my X now cuz the S3's batt is charged.

Too tired to root now, hope they don't OTA me before the weekend.

Samsung Galaxy S3 from Sam's Club for $.96... Check!
Used "standard" phone upgrades to keep Unlimited Data plan... Check!

And i know three people at work that just got new smartphones from Verizon last week, and were also allowed to keep their unlimited plans.
I wonder if this is a "holiday" thing, or have "the people spoken" loud enough to change Verizons mind permanently??
