At IFA Samsung Promises that Jelly Bean Will be Coming Soon to the Galaxy S III

Uh yeah. Apple tells you that you will get it next week. When is iOS6 coming out? Been there, done that.

The S3 could run GingerBread. It runs ICS. JellyBean flies on it. With every Apple update they start crippling previous models. Point being that Samsung's phone's are far more successful at running major leaps in OSes.

I have already received three updates to my OS. Four if I would take the time to actually make a Nandroid and take the latest update that is waiting.That seems like great support to me.

What exactly is wrong with ICS that JellyBean makes or breaks a phone?

So when is jelly bean suppose to hit u.s. vzw phones? I thought I read a thread that said 8/31, but I haven't heard any thing else, except 'coming soon to so hone near you '

I haven't seen any actual date but have read it will probably roll out to the international version first. My guess is those of us on VZW will be some of the last to get it.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S3 and Note 10.1 to arrive soon

Samsung’s event at IFA has brought us a lot of good news. Along with new product releases, Samsung has also announced that Galaxy S3 and Note 10.1 will receive an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update very soon.
Unfortunately they didn’t disclose any release date, though we should probably get the update in less than a month.

Some sources have been announcing already that Samsung is preparing to release Jelly Bean updates for the Galaxy S3 and Note 10.1 in September, while the Galaxy S2 and Note N7000 should be updated by October.
Considering that there are already stable Jelly Bean leaks for the Galaxy S3, we can suppose that they are almost ready to push it through Kies and OTA.

Personally I can't figure out why anyone's *****ing about this update not coming out yet.

I had a DX and for 2 years. I ran "Froyo" and "Gingerbread" on it.

I got the GS3 and it came with "Ice Cream Sandwhich" in June. Nice upgrade. Love it.

It's September (4 months later) and I'm supposed to get "Jelly Bean" in a month.

What am I missing? At this rate with this phone I'll be rocking "Popsicle" before my contract is up.
