Galaxy Note 10.1 Supertab Officially Unveiled by Samsung; Debuts August 16th for $500

Samsung just now officially unveiled their new Galaxy Note 10.1 Super-Tablet, along with pricing and availability. The new flagship tablet from Samsung will be available in the United States starting August 16th. It will sell for $499.99 for the 16GB version, and $549.99 for the 32GB version. Just as a recap, here's a spec breakdown on this beastly device:

• 1.4GHz quad-core processor
• 2GB of RAM
• 10.1-inch WXGA LCD display
• 5-megapixel rear camera
• Secondary 1.9 megapixel front camera for video chats
• Samsung’s S Pen stylus system
• Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (should be quickly upgraded to Jelly Bean)

Despite the OS and the camera, this device is currently the most powerful tablet on earth, and seems to be a bargain at the $500 dollar price point. We even updated our Android Tablet Summer Buyer's Guide in order to reflect this new info. Share your thoughts.

Any news on the resolution? Man, I am trying to hold out for a Windows tab, but Sammy is making it harder. I have the OG 10.1 and love it.

Removing the stylus from its place holder turns the screen on. That's pimp.

Wouldn't the S4 Pro Quad dev tab have more power? Smaller nm chip set so more efficient. Should be absolutely monstrous. Also carrying the Adreno 320 which packs 3-4 times the power of current S4 graphics chips. Course, the price is over twice this device (as a strictly dev device)

I'm loving this but not sure about the 5 mega pixel rear camera? Most and I do mean most if not all of the competition have 8 mega pixel offerings and yes this is important to me as I have a 2 year old granddaughter that I do use my tablet to snap shots and videos for!

If Sammy finally invested in some decent sensors then 5MP would be plenty. I wouldn't count on it though since I have been through three of their phones without a sensor upgrade.

Picked mine up this afternoon from Best Buy. Selling my iPad 3 Monday to a friend and putting my Transformer Prime on ebay. I am that impressed with this machine!

I know this isn't a forum for this tablet but the thread is here and I got the tablet last night and there is 1 huge flaw to me that I haven't read about anywhere. It's my fault I guess for just assuming that this tablet, like almost all others, had HDMI out of some sort but it looks like I was wrong.

I need a way to hook it to my flat screen TV so that any app I open shows on the TV. Not 1 review I looked at mentioned the lack of this feature which also prohibits using it for presentations with an HDMI projector.
