What are you trying to do exactly @duncang? Do you still have the S3? Android does a really good job at managing apps in the background.... BUT, if your device is a bit sluggish, you might try using CCleaner from the Play Store. If that doesn't help, a factory data reset will help clean out the cob webs. Just make sure you go into your play store settings & your Google settings and make sure it's not set up to reload your apps automatically. You'll want to do that yourself to keep your system from loading unnecessary apps that you rarely use.

Also, if you're still using the same battery it will be time to purchase a new one. It will help tremendously, and an OEM replacement is only about 12 bucks on Amazon.
