Sound problems when playing in car

Hi there. This is my first post so sorry if this has already been discussed.
I listen to a lot of podcasts in my car through the aux output. I've listened to a few different podcasts and some are fine but on some the sound is only coming out of one speaker. This is happening in both of our cars. I've only just got an s3 after changing from an iphone and this is the only problem I'm having.
Could it be where it's downloaded from? Can I adjust some sort of setting to sort it out?
    It's soooo irritating!
    Thanks!

It sounds like a recording issue rather than a playback issue. There may be a setting to change output to mono, however. What are you using for playback?

Thank you! Iy nice to get a reply so quickly.
I've downloaded via the internet and then it goes directly into my sound player and I play it through that. I listen to 4 podcasts regularly, 2 of them play fine and 2 don't. Just seems so odd.

I'm thinking it's the download or particular podcast as well. I listen to podcast each weekday myself and sometimes they don't always download correctly. When that happens, I will usually try streaming it directly or delete and re download, and that often fixes the problem. Hopefully someone else has experienced this & can offer another suggestion.
Good luck & let us know how you make out.

Sorry. I am a bit daft, but what does streaming directly mean?

Guess it depends on which app you use. I use "PocketCast", and it allows you to either download the podcast or stream it directly to your device, instead of waiting for said podcast to download,it starts playing immediately. Depending on your signal, it may buffer occasionally while streaming, which will result in the podcast pausing momentarily until it catches up. Mine usually streams just fine though.

Oh I see. I don't use an app at all. Should I? Streaming would be no good really, I download in the evening to listen to in the car the next day.

Yeah, I usually download them myself to listen to them later. So you download them directly from a website I'm assuming?

I'd see if you CAN use an app for those podcasts. Would make organizing them a lot easier, as well as offering other options that may prove useful. Try downloading any affected 'casts again and see if the sound problem remains. If so, especially since it's so intermittent, I wouldn't attribute the problem to the phone itself. If it were steadier, I'd be more willing to say it could be the phone itself.

    Here's the app CR6 mentioned.

It's $3, but if you're a heavy 'cast listener then it's worth it; and you have 15 minutes to try it out and get a refund if you don't like it.

I got that one thanks! Even if it doesn't sort the sound out, it's make finding podcasts a lot easier, almost like itunes on my old iphone. Thanks!
