problem with android 4.0.4

Hi, just purchased a Galaxy s3 and after initial setup and dowloading a couple of apps i decided to run the software update option from the settings menu. got it upgraded to ver 4.0.4 and afterwards the phone is ramdomly opening the security and lock screen settings regardless of what i'm doing with the phone. tried restarting the phone, took the battery out but problem persists. any help will be greatly appreciated. i'm new to android.

Welcome to the Forum. Try going to Settings>App Manager>All. Scroll down to SysScope and clear data, Force Stop and reboot your phone

it took longer to go back to it but it still doing the same thing.

Last night after my last post i played a little more with my phone and i had my GPS turned off. Switched it back on and now i'm not having the problem any more. Does this means i need to have the GPS on at all times to avoid this "bug". or is there something wrong with my phone or something i did?
