MAKING 3rd PARTY MUSIC PLAYER THE (true) DEFAULT PLAYER.

HELP!! Tried App Manager - All - scrolled down to "music player" (app info) - then chose "Clear defaults".... Then found a song on the SD card and tapped it. Pop up asked what player to use - chose "Player Pro" and checked the box to set as default. Song played fine in player pro. All good right?? NOT. S voice responds to music commands, but continues to open stock Music player.
Can anyone remedy this or recommend a player with settings to truly set as a default player? (or disable S3's stock Music Player for good - not just "hide" the icon from the apps drawer?)

Disabling stock would be worth a try. Might bork the response in S Voice though. What happens?

I have the same problem & found disabling music player isn't the answer. I read somewhere that there is no such thing as a default app in Android, but if that's true why is there a music player that plays by default? - very confusing, I'd also like the answer to this as I use Poweramp Pro

I am rooted and I don't use s voice. I just froze the stock music apps in Ti backup and installed a music player of my choice. Works perfectly
