    Keyboard stops working

    Has anyone found a solution of why the keyboard stops working? tried using SwiftKey but still having trouble

    What do you mean stopped working? Were you able to write this post with a keyboard or with voice? Check the settings to see if the keyboard is checked. Hopefully that helps.

    Also, when you click on "language and input" make sure to look in "default" to see that you have the corresponding keyboard checked with your "input" method.

    every now and then while trying to write in diferent apps such as whatsapp. facebook etc the keyboard wont work have to get out and try several times to make it work again

    Are you the keyboard just does not respond properly? I have had that with the stock keyboard.
    I kind of like "AI Keyboard" from the market. It behaves rather well in this forum. Swype also is not bad. I have not used Swiftkey, no help to you there.

    It just stops workimg so I have to wait for it to respond a while it gets annoying

    I have the same issue. I get the error "Unfortunately, Samsung keyboard has stopped" pretty much every day in the middle of texting, and I have to restart my phone by taking out the battery because the Samsung keyboard keeps trying to restart itself but it constantly fails and makes the phone unusable. The way it happens is the keyboard's response becomes supper slow (when I put my finger on a character, it types it 5 seconds later), and then the keyboard fails. Here is a screenshot of the error:

    I contacted the Samsung support about this issue, and they told me to factory reset my phone. I reset my phone to factory defaults and only installed the essential apps, but I still have the problem. I loved the GS series up until now, but this issue is so annoying that it makes me want to go get another phone right now.

    I have the AT&T version btw.

    Welcome to the forum Kevin!
    The stock keyboard is a bit finicky. Some people like it and have had good luck using it, but many more have reported problems with it. Have you tried a third party keyboard from the Play Store? There are quite a few superior replacements available. Some of the more popular ones are SwiftKey 3, SwiftKey Flow, Swype, Go Keyboard & TouchPal just to name a few. I think you'll be much happier with one of these replacements.
