Yes. My car charger is a Motorola and it works fine. MicroUSB is universal.
I just wanted to make sure since I know the amps are okay wasn't sure of the voltage made a difference
5V is the universal standard. It'd cost too much to build a device and then design chargers and accessories that only work with the device in question. The Moto charger is probably less than 1A, but it will put juice into the battery.
Unless you're Apple. In that case, well, you can just wallet-rape your customers until they beg you for more.

Just started looking, bought a couple and phone was discharging with use while charging.
I went back to my old Generic Android Charger and it charged while in use.
Found a bunch of reviews of charger products that I didn't see before as well as a couple old Android threads not about the S3.
Your charger will have one of two protocols, either the iPhone or the non iPhone.
If it has the iPhone USB protocol it will limit your none iPhone to .5 amps.
It has to do with how the two middle pins are connected inside the charger.
Thus the useless chargers I have sitting her.
My wall plug and desktop from Samsung are 1.0 amp.
The note above about the output micro and mini USP plug being universal is correct but not the USB charger output.
My old Generic was purchased for a Motorola and does work great on both. But it is for an Android not an iPhone.
Just a heads up, Samsung's are very picky about their cables. The phone can actually recognize whether the cable is Samsung or not, and if it isn't, a diode lowers the input amperage. (Safety feature to keep cheap chargers from killing the phone.) Therefore, non-Samsung chargers take longer. I'm a cell phone salesman, I read about this and my Samsung rep confirmed it.

I have used my old generic Moto charger I had with DX and it charges just as fast as the charger that came packaged with the GSIII, fwiw

My car charger works just fine. My concern is more for working than how fast it works, know what I mean?![]()

Sometimes the charger can't keep up though.
