Define lag. There may be some fixes depending on what's lagging.

nvm. it's still just as laggy.

well, for example, while playing the game Temple Run it will stop for like a millisecond very frequently, causing me to lose almost every time.
It does this when switching home screens, scrolling through contacts, etc..
where instead of flowing smoothly, it will stop really quickly and then continue

the phone acts like an online game of call of duty that lags because the host's connection isn't full.

Okay, first off is Temple Run optimized to run on either ICS or the SGS 3? I don't play it so I wouldn't know. Might be worth contacting the developer.

Second, try this for some smoothing:

Settings> Developer options> Window animation scale [set to off]> Transition animation scale [set to off].

Third, since you're in there, try Force GPU rendering and see if that helps. It may not; if it doesn't, you can leave it on or turn it off based on preference. If it makes things worse, kill it immediately (obviously).

Also make sure power saving mode isn't on because that causes a slight lag because it slows down the CPU

Power saving has no affect on the speed of my phone. I use it every day with no lags, hiccups what so ever.

It does on ours fur sure. I had to turn mine off because there's a noticeable lag with it on.

Power saving didn't ever cause any problems for me. I thought it would lag it up, but it never did.

That may have been part of it. On stock unrooted it worked fine for me. I rooted and didn't really mess with stock much after. Went to AOSP as soon as I could.

I just keep it turned off, problem solved. LOL. Besides, I'm around enough power cords at home, work & vehicle....there's really no need to conserve.
