Version 3.07 is what XDA recommended.
The file that finally worked for me came from here. http://tinyurl.com/tytillithz
Thanks for all the advice guys. I haven't seen that root thread before, so I'll see if I can glean anything new off of that.
I've mostly been using ODIN 3.07. I saw a few people posting that ODIN 3.04 worked for them, but I've had the same result.
I'm going to leave my phone plugged in during work today. It should have been fully charged when I started this, but you never know.
Last night I realized that I have a laptop at work I can bring home, so I'm going to try using that tonight. I think that's the most promising option, since my USB ports all have different behaviors, which is odd. This is a pretty old MSI netbook, while my computer at work is a pretty standard-line Dell. I'll let you guys know if this works.
Thanks again for the help.
Let us know how you're making our armills. Hopefully it'll take this go round.
If I can I am going to lock this thread the other Verizon build of root is much more stable/works better. You should be using [ROM] PROPER Remake of Rooted Stock Image [Verizon]
Since the OP is updated, and this method has been superceeded, this thread is locked.
