    Custom Boot Animation fix

So after working on it for a few hours, I finally got my own custom boot animation made from a .gif file. The important thing is that the boot animation plays. The problem lies in the way it's being played.

For the first few seconds, the boot animation plays smoothly, just like I want it. Then it immediately speeds up as if it's playing at 5x the speed.

I edited the desc.txt file and made the boot animation play at 70 fps. While editing the file made the animation smoother, it didn't stop the animation from speeding up after a few seconds.

Does anyone know what could be causing the boot animation to speed up like this? The boot animation that comes with AOKP Milestone 2 (which I'm currently running) plays smoothly and doesn't seem to speed up at all. Mine, however, keeps doing so. Any suggestions?

I should also probably mention that the preview shown in the custom boot animation editor found in the boot animation section in the AOKP ROM Control menu plays normally and smoothly. It doesnt sleed up st all. It doesn't speed up whatsoever.

I've been thinking about your dilemma about your custom boot animation. Have you checked what you have your rates set for each part of the animation? There may be something there that msy need to be tweaked. It might be worth checking out. Just my two cents.

I've moved my web site for my wallpapers.
The new URL for my site is at http://cindysandroidwallpapers.blogspot.com/.
Right now, it's a work in process but it's getting there as I have spare time to dedicate to it.

If you upload your Bootanimation.Zip file I can test it on my Stock based Rom.

Do you have any idea what would need to be tweaked? The only thing I can think of is the .txt file that controls it. I've already changed the fps, but that change is abandoned after a few seconds.

Is there a file size limit here? The program I used made the file 11 MB in size. It's also fitted to my phone's resolution, so I'm not sure if it'll look right on yours.

The fps number was what I was thinking needed to be tweaked. When I used to make custom boot animations for my Motorola Droid Bionic, I used to keep my fps number between 10 and 15. That was normally the right speed for my liking.

Probably too big to store on the forum. Would have to use a public Dropbox folder or an Upload site such as Mediafire. The resolution of the US Galaxy S3 is 800 x 1280

I think Cindy is on to something. It's been a long time since I made one from scratch. Heck it's even been a while since I just changed the resolution of this one [BOOT ANIMATION] Matrix Code to fit our phone. Anyway, like Cindy I also used a much slower rate usually 15-20 fps. 70 fps seems pretty fast. Your is probably running slow at first because the processor is working hard during that time of the booting up. Then is able to run your animation at full speed when it's not working as hard. That's just my assumption.

That makes sense, actually. I think I only changed the speed to 70 fps because the preview would play normally. Anything slower would play way too fast.

I'll go back and change the fps and see what the results are.

Haha, I just rebooted and realized I forgot to update.

Yeah, lowering the FPS fixed the problem. I have no idea why I thought having a high FPS would make it go slower. I think it's because if I go 30 or below, the phone wouldn't load the boot animation.

Either way, it's fixed now so thanks guys.
