Thermometer On Screen with exclamation point and yellow triangle!!!

Anyone got this one yet? me and my coworker both got the SIII and she jus told me as we got to work today her phone made a noise and she looked at it and it had a yellow triangle with a Thermometer On Screen with exclamation point! She said it was so hot she couldnt even touch it and it wouldnt charge until sometime in the middle of the night she looked at it and when she cut it on it was in "safe mode". She called today and some rep was gonna send her a new phone was once a level 1 rep got on the phone he had her take the sim card out and battery out then put it back in and it got rid of the safe mode part and seems to be fine now but shes pretty peed off. They asked her if shes put alot on her phone. Seriously?? Its a 16gb phone with a 32gb card in it, why would that even be an issue??? lol

Wow!! Mine gets super hot too but have never gotten that. The Verizon Rep told me there are many complaints of the phone heating up. I say if it still gets hot to call back and get a new phone.

Methinks it may have also been laying on the seat next to her in the sun on the drive... I know tons of people who do that and think nothing of it. Heck, if mine is laying in the sun when it's 95 outside I freak out if it's been a minute or two. That's all it takes for the sun to make it almost too hot to touch. Not just with this phone but my old DX too... sun can cause a lot of damage real fast to electronics, especially those as finely tuned as modern-day smartphones.

Just because it hasn't been mentioned yet ... the symbol she saw on her screen was the phone telling her it had exceeded the temperature safety limits and was shutting itself off until it cooled down enough. This should never happen in normal operation.

Extensive data use can heat these things up fast. Maybe there was a large download going on?

I'd see if Verizon would replace the phone.
