How to tell phone where to store things like pics

I can't seem to find where to set storing things like pics on the external sd card. I understand that the apps go to the on board sd but other things can be selected for external sd storage.
Google is "Skynet". I know that one day my Android phone is going to turn into a robot and try to kill me, but I am o-k with that.

To dictate where the camera stores pictures you can set in inside of the camera's settings. Launch your camera app, select the settings icon, and then scroll down.

It will show an icon of an sdcard on the screen when set to external and a picture of the phone when set to internal on the top right hand side of the screen.

Thanks, I was able to select "memory card". I now see the icon you are referencing.

Awesome. I needed to know this too. I don't have an sd card yet, but but when I do, I will want to put photos on the sd card.

My phone prompted me to choose the first time I launched the camera app with the sdcard inserted.

Any advantage to one or the other? I got the 32G internal version and put a 16G SDcard in for external storage/apps. I set mine up to save them to the phone. Should I reconsider? ..and why or why not?

Other than having them be portable on the SDcard is there a better reason to save them there?

I like it because I don't do cloud services for personal pictures and as much as I flash my phone it is super convenient.

So did mine, but I changed from a 16gb card that came from my DroidX to a new 32GB Samsung class 10 card.
    Thanks again.
