Galaxy S3 SIM card question

Anyone here upgrade from the HTC Rezound to the S3 and use the same SIM card, I know it comes with a new SIM card, but was wondering if I can just transfer my SIM card to the S3 for a smoother transition, and this way I can just switch phones whenever I want.

Hey Cyber. Have you tried a different SIM card in your S3?
I asked the Verizon rep that same question last night while working on my phone. Actually I asked if my daughter and I could just swap SIM cards to each other's phones and it work. He didn't seem to think it would work like our old SIM phones (TMO).
He said the sim card is tied to the id of the phone. He thought if you tried it the card may work but would deactivate the other card. So in my case if I tried my sim card in my daughter's phone, my card may work but it also may deactivate her sim and she woulld then have to buy a new sim card.
He did mention that if you called vzw they may be able to get that done.

I've been told that almost universally (with some very few exceptions) transferring your SIM card will NOT work. I'm about to transfer my Fido Sim card (Samsung Galaxy Q phone) to my just purchased Rogers S3 phone.

First order of business is to get my Rogers S3 phone unlocked.
Second problem is that the Q phone uses a full sized Sim, the S3 uses a microSim. To solve that problem, I purchased a $10 microSim from Fido. When I'm ready, I'll call up Fido and have them electronically transfer the information to the new microSim I purchased. Then, it's just a matter of inserting it in the S3 and I'm good to go.
Note, once this transfer goes through, the old Fido Sim will not work any more.

I think all of this information could be transferred manually if I had the Sim/microSim reader/writer tools, but I'm not that sophisticated with my tech capabilities, so I'll pass on it at this point.

You can transfer a SIM card, but not to another users device, if you have two phones that are yours and never where activated by someone else, you can just go back and forth with the SIM card on each device, of course it must fit on both devices, found out more info on the other forum, there is SIM card adapters you can get if the two devices you have have different SIM card sizes.

I've heard of one or two exceptions (unconfirmed). Rogers Cable took over Fido and apparently some of the Fido SIM cards will work in Rogers locked phones. Can't try it in my case because of the different SIM card sizes, but $10 for a microSIM and unlocking the Rogers S3 should hopefully take care of that.
