Guys im new to the DROID life. Ive got the S3 and would really like to know how to do this to my phone.
I have been with Apple for the last 6yrs and decided to try android os. Im fairly familiar with Jailbreaks and hacks. But this system is TOTALLY different.

No root required for swapping to a different "launcher" app, etc. The general favorite in here is Apex launcher. It is theme-able, meaning you can install one of the market themes for apex (search apex theme, you'll see tons). In general without root, you still have control of a lot of the visuals on your phone. Example: Go to settings, display, font type.. You can install flipfont apks (from market or XDA, etc) and change your system font. Instant visual change for you phone. Swapping a launcher allows all kinds of customizing to keep you busy for hours also. Careful you don't make it so custom it's unusable to you. Set your screens up so it's "easier" to use.. That's my goal. So with the customizing of widgets, home launchers, icons, etc, you have great flexibility over iPhone, but with that comes the great task of making it "your own style", as opposed to just moving icons around ala iOS.
OGreat explanation. I will only add welcome to the wonderful world of androidNo root required for swapping to a different "launcher" app, etc. The general favorite in here is Apex launcher.
