Battery drop when unplugging the charger

Not sure if this happens to all or not but; when my S3 say's fully charged (and the percentage is at a hundred) as soon as I unplug the charger it drops down to 95%?

Just wondering if anyone else had this

Hmm, so it's going to die quicker as a result then i guess. I brought this battery off Ebay, doubt is has anything to do with charging though?

Nope. It has to do with it not being a good battery. EBay batteries are notorious for this. Sometimes the battery just incorrectly reports the percent to the phone. Other times they just don't fully charge.

If I remove my charger within 5-15 mins of a full charge, then my battery stays at 100% for some time while it's idle.

However, if I charge overnight and the phone remains at full charge for an extended time, then it drops to 99% after I remove the charger.

It's not quite the exact situation that you have, but why is the battery discharging with the charger plugged in? Is my battery failing too? It's OEM

Sent from my Galaxy SIII using Tapatalk 4 Beta.

you should be fine. Just know that the % reported may be off and that you might not get the same life as an OEM battery. But, eh, sounds like you have some backups so no sweat I guess

If you search around you will find some forum threads that extensively document how to tell if a battery is a counterfeit or inferior in some other way.

In general, incorrect model number, labels that look like OEM but not quite perfect, 3.7 volts instead of 3.8, + and - not lining up with contacts, and wrong qr code. My strong suspicion is that ANY battery that claims to be OEM and does not cost $20+ is probably a fake. I would double down on my suspicion for batteries sold on eBay.

Non OEM batteries that LOOK OEM, I would be extremely cautious of those. That is a blatant attempt to trick you. Third party batteries may be equally inferior to the counterfeit ones or may not. But I rest easier with them because at least they are not hiding what they are.

    OEM:

Non OEM (or maybe comes in international, I'm not sure). See the different model number?

Just trying to give a visual as to how tricky it can be to get the same exact battery that your phone came with .
