Deleted messages

I accidentally deleted a sms from my phone, can it be retrieved or has it dissappeared into cyber space

Hello Melanie and welcome to the forum! I'm afraid your message may be forever lost in cyberspace.
I'm not totally sure though. Maybe an app. for recovering deleted files from the phone? There is one but cannot remember the name.

Are you using the stock messaging app or a third party app like GoSMS or Handcent? Not sure about the stock app, but both Go & Hand have an option to set your device to automatically backup you're messages at a predetermined time, which comes in very handy.

Welcome! It won't help you this time but you can use the app SMS Backup and Restore to backup your messages. There is both a free and paid version. I have it set to run overnight and then use the app Dropsync to send the data to my Dropbox account. The same developer also has a call backup and restore app. You don't need to be rooted to use either of these apps. Enjoy your new phone!
