    s3 device storage

hello! i've programmed my s3 to save photos and videos to the external sd card. however my storage settings says that the pictures/videos category of my device memory uses up 4.99gb of memory space. what gives?

Verify they are on your external card.... Also if you have an app that is installed on the internal drive that is set to back up your photos and videos it may be duplicating them to that apps folder to upload them....

I doubt it... You should be able to open the Photos and Videos there in the storage and see exactly what files it is showing as being on the internal........

i set the preferences of the camera app to save to the external sd card. i connected the phone to the computer to check the contents of both the internal storage and external sd card. it shows that the photos and videos are indeed on the external card and not on the internal storage. however this still shows up

It is just reading wrong.... Look at the numbers you have 8.3 GB available of 11.35. That is only taking away the 3GB that is accounted for by the rest... Why it is showing there I am not sure but the rest of the numbers are right.....
