Phone not ringing?

Every once in a while somebody will call me and my phone will ring on their end but not on my end. It does not register a missed call, if they leave a voicemail I will usually get it immediately, but if they don't, I have no way of knowing they called. I've only had this phone for two weeks, it's happened twice already and I don't really get that many calls. Frustrating when my girlfriend accuses me of ignoring her.

It also dropped a cal when I was driving and I could not make a call for about 5 minutes even though it said I had 2 bars.

I'm assuming this is more of a carrier issue because it's happened in the past, just seems to be happening more often now. Just wanted to see if it happens to anyone else.

Check your notification bar as it's easy to mute all notifications in error.

Notifications are on, my phone won't ring, vibrate, turn on, or do anything when this happens. It doesn't even say I had a missed call. Like last night it rang fine when my buddy called, but an hour later when my girlfriend called it did nothing.

You know it's a smartphone and knew your GF was calling... Just kidding... Perhaps you want to contact your carrier. it could be a SIM Card issue or just a defective unit.

EDIT Try removing the SIM reboot and replace it

Strange, my phone has been doing this the post couple of days as well. I'll look down and my phone shows i have a voicemail. No missed call log or anything. I've called myself a couple times from my work phone and it rings no problem. I also noticed i haven't received an email lately. So i manually synced it myself and my inbox filled right up. Went into settings, accounts and sync and somehow the sync for my gmail accts was turned off. So that's fixed, but not sure about the missed call issue. I'll keep an eye on it the next couple days and report back if it continues.
