New OTA for Verizon GS3

Don't panic. It's meant to strike fear in you. I forget what you have to do to invoke this warning and exactly what you have to do in order for it to go away, but it's no big deal really. There's always the "odin back" advice. Sorry for the vauge help, just wanted to post late at night that it's nothing serious. Search around and you'll find some stuff on it. Bed time over here but i'm sure someone will get you back and running in no to time. good luck.

Wait what happened? Are you on a custom rom?

This happened to me too. Was running a custom rom and I locked the bootloader before the update and was getting the "not authorized" error. I had to ODIN back to stock to fix.

Sorry for the panic guys. I returned to custom ROM using odin.
I have a new problem:
My phone is Verizon SGS3 of course.
I soft bricked my phone a while ago and had to Odin back to stock. I re-rooted my phone and used the cell standby battery drain fix. Now Verizon keeps trying to push the OTA update every day and it is getting obnoxious. I want to freeze this update but I don't know how.
Also, sometimes when I am connected to a wifi network (at school or home) and I leave the router's range the phone automatically drops the wifi connection (as it should). However, the wifi indicator still shows in the status bar and does not disappear, although it is grey (inactive). If I head to Settings>Wifi (I click the wifi off toggle in the settings menu) nothing happens. The wifi symbol still shows up in the notification bar and but it is grey (inactive) still. If go to the settings menu again and actually enter the Wifi Settings option, the phone freezes. I can press the power button so the screen sleeps. When I press the power button again the screen wakes, I unlock the screen, and all i see is a black screen with the notification bar at the top. What is this being caused by? Faulty radio? Or do radios only apply to data/calling networks. The only way to get my phone working again is to pull the battery. It will not power down.
Next, sometimes my keyboard doesn't show up when I select an insert text box (example: text messaging). It simply does not show up, although the text I just opened moves higher on the screen to make room for the keyboard. I have swift key 3 installed. When I uninstalled swift key 3 the keyboard problems went away, and the wifi problem seemed to disappear as well, although I didn't have it uninstalled for very long because I cannot stand the stock keyboard. The keyboard problem has not happened since swift key reinstall, but the wifi problem occurred once or twice.
Finally, cell standby battery drain seems to have reappeared! I used an installable zip that someone put on a forum to fix the drain, and it worked, but now it seems to be back.

So my question is:
How can I freeze OTA?
Could Swift Key (or another app) be causing this problem?
Has anyone else encountered any of these problems?
Why is the cell standby drain reoccurring?

I appreciate any help.

To answer your first question here is the advice CR6 gave me "Open up Titanium Backup and freeze fwupgrade & SDM 1.0 so no OTA updates are pushed through".

I assume I need the Pro version of Titanium to freeze processes?
I uninstalled Swift Key, and the Cell Standby issue seems to have disappeared. So far the wifi issue has not come up, but I will let you know what changes.

One more question. Could I install this update and somehow be able to re-root my phone?

I received this alert last night as well. I wasn't even using my phone. I had just pulled it out of my bag and saw the alert on my screen. Should I be concerned? Do I actually need to go waste my day in a Verizon store? Please help! (The alert said: Unauthorized system software detected turn off phone and go to nearest verizon store - or something like that). I haven't done anything to my phone other than download various apps and games...

That happens when you root and forget to unlock the bootloader. I think I've read of a few times where something happened during the OTA to make it happen on unrooted phones. To get rid of it you could use Odin to flash the stock rom but since you aren't rooted I would take it to a store.

But only take it there if u have not rooted. If you are rooted you should unlock the bootloader. That should fix your issue.
