send txt to more than 10 people

Is it possible to swbd a txt to more than 10 @ once? I'm part of a volunteer fire dept. And sometimes need to send messages to the whole dept. I made a group for them but can still only seem to send to 10 at a time.

Welcome to the forum listo! I was just browsing some in the Samsung site and came across your question. They didn't have much to offer.
I have never had to send to that many and have not heard anywhere about doing this. Maybe a question for Verizon?

In Handcent, there is a way. First in your gGoogle contacts, you need to create groups. I have family, friends, coworkers, favorites, friends, collective,....etc. In each contact, assign them to a group or multiple groups. In Handcent, select a new message and then select the blue plus. You then have the option to select contacts, groups or recent. If you select groups, you then can select the group (any size you choose) and send them the same text message.

The key here is setting up your groups in Google contacts.

Cool, what's handcent? I already did the groups thing but it would still just do 10 .
But I didn't do handcent.

Handcent is a Texting app for download in the app store or Play Store as it's called. Just download it and set it as your default text message app if you like. It actually has more functionality and customization than the stock text app as well so you'll be happy you downloaded it.

I don't think this is just a S3 issue.
My LG Ally with VZN would kick back txt if too many.
I was using Handcent but not the Group function.
I had a different list each time

I had used Handcent on the Ally for the font size.
It was Android about 2.0 or so.
Hadn't used it on the S3 though because the stock version is pretty good.
Would love to know how it works for you.

Side note, I thought there is a Group function on the S3 standard version too.

it works good, im just using it for texting to more than 10 people though as the stock version can do groups, just groups of up to 10 though. im using the stock version still because you can open texts directly from the lock screen. i know its just one little extra step to slide down the top menu, but thats the way i am.

Go SMS Pro will allow you to read/open texts from the lock-screen as well, and has way more features than stock. Give it a try when you get a chance, I think you'll really like it.

Has there been updates to this feautre. It is not a carrier issue. I could text as many people as I wanted on my ancient Blackberry. There should be no reason to need to install an APP to be able to text more than 10 people at once. I'm hoping I do not need to leave the Galaxy family because this seems like someone from Apple created this inability function. This is a phone issue without a doubt.
