Windows 7 64 Crashes when transfering using MTP or PTP....

Ok guyz.....Windows 7 64 is crashing anytime I try and drag/drop files to my laptop. Has anyone found a workaround besides kies or airdroid as I won't have access to a wifi connection at all times and using the hot spot to transfer large files may make me old before my time :-) There has to be a way to transfer files using the USB connection and I'm just not finding it.

    Hello nd,
Have you tried downloading and re-installing the drivers again?
Also, maybe try running you pc in compatibility mode.
    Worth a shot?

+1 to the suggestion for reinstalling drivers. In fact, I would use USB Deview to remove all samsung drivers (here's a link). Run it as administrator then remove any mobile device driver with the vendor ID "18d1" or "04e8." Then reinstall the samsung drivers (you probably have them, but here's a link for the Samsung drivers page). Just my 2 cents... no reason it should cause a windows crash

I "copy and paste" between my PC and the phone regularly via USB 2.0. I do not Sync.

Ok guyz, I've tried uninstallling all USB drivers now and what is weird is that when I keep it in MTP mode and uninstall everything then connect my phone it shows the device but no folders. Has anyone ran into this problem before? So I can see the device though no folders now in win explorer. I also can switch to PTP but that just crashes explorer again when I try to transfer the data by dragging and dropping the needed file/folder. I can't find online where anyone else is having this exact same issue. It must be something with Win 7 64 Enterprise or could it be that I rooted the phone and am using the jrummy tool kit???? Something is out of whack for sure and I just can't put my finger on it yet

That sounds really strange to me... I would have thought drivers would help! Perhaps try it on a different pc and/or with a different cable to see if it's repeatable. If it doesn't happen on a different computer then it must be something with your Windows setup, which outside of drivers involves a whole new slew of troubleshooting. If there are files in your storage the computer should recognize them...
