    GS3 & Bluetooth headsets

So I had a Droid X and a Motorola H710 Bluetooth headset for 2 years before I bought my GS3.

With the DX I could walk around everywhere.. upstairs, basement and outside on the back porch while my phone sat on my desk. Not one crackle or garble.

Now, with the GS3 the reception is far poorer. But in a weird way. If I go to walk upstairs people will say I'm cutting out, and I can hear static. But when I get upstairs it seems fine.

When I walk around in other parts of the house that I had great connectivity w/ my DX the GS3 fails miserably.

Is there something I'm missing? Do I need a different headset or is the GS3 antenna just not as good? Really bugs me.

Been using Jawbone Icon for the 2yrs I had my DX and now GS3. I have to say I get even more distance, maybe 30-35ft around the house and at work. Curious, do you have headset also paired with another BT device as well? I have mine to laptop as well and I will get static if more than 20ish ft away from laptop with all 3 connected.

Nope. Just the phone. That's the one thing that changed. Pretty disappointed.

Starting to realize what a beast my DX was for the time... or even now for that matter.

So I guess no one is having any issues with their Bluetooth headsets.

I'm still puzzled as to why the Motorola H710 worked so good on my DX but is so spotty on the GS3.

I hate to go looking for another one because I like the design so well on the H710. (no ear bud) It has that flip open to answer/turn on feature and it's incredibly comfortable to wear.

So I guess i'll ask this: What Bluetooth headset do you use and what kind of distance/interference do you get with it?

I use a Motorola HX 550 and have had no issues with it. It has three different ways to wear it. I can go clear out into my back yard and not lose connection..

Ahhhh.... didn't know about that model. I see it has an extended range of 300ft and looks similar to the H710 w/ no ear buds. I'll think about looking into that one. Thank you for the post.

I get some distortion using the Motorola T505 for calls as well but audio sounds fine, I think its just calls that the GS3 is bad with. My old DX used to sound crystal clear as well.

Not having call issues really. It's clarity when I move from room to room. One rooms good... another it gets fuzzy and breaks up.

Never had an issue w/ the DX.
