Not to me. I have never used it to find something on my phone. I'm sure to some it might make a difference because it could be useful I guess.

I've always found it easier to set my phone up to access the things I use most instantly. Instead of waisting time typing it into a search.

I really tried the search feature. Now it is the first thing that I remove. I just can't get the feel of it.

I like using Gesture search from the Play store. It makes finding contacts, apps, music, etc very easy. You just swipe the letters and it just finds it. Give it a try.
