    Verizon Galaxy S3 accidental unlock?

I know it's to good to be true but heres my story. I recently bought an S3 (came from Nexus) and have noticed that my 3g drops out a lot when I use my hotspot. So today I decided to pop the battery and sim card out and see if that helped. After I did that the flash blinked once right as I was taking the sim card out (which I didn't think was possible without a battery). When I went to start up my phone I noticed "custom" and an unlocked paddle lock under the Galaxy SIII boot screen.

So I'm wondering if I somehow triggered it? Or if when I restart will it "lock" again. Please list any thoughts/opinions.

For some reason this is happening to some stock units. It's not bootloader unlocked, just something its seeing is different, usually the recovery.

    Welcome to the forum!

If unlocking the phone were that easy we'd all be running custom ROMs. Sorry.

Yeah I just thought maybe I stumbled upon something that Samsung put in to pull a fast one on big red. Let a man dream!

Either way I'm looking forward to the JB roms that are hopefully around the corner. I'm even installing windows to help with ODIN.

JB is awesome on this phone. I couldn't believe the difference. Someone here posted how their DX was the bees knees when it came to web browsing...this has improved ten fold in JB.

Agreed. CM10 is just blowing me away every time I touch it. Its just awesome, especially for such an early build.

Only device I could get CM10 on is my Nook Color which was choking BADLY with CM9.

I'm on ParanoidAndroid's JB version. It has a lot of extras packed in. Very clean, great battery life.

I may or may not work for Verizon but what I can tell you is that the first 75 To 200 phones I received of the Samsung Galaxy S 3 the white ones didn't say anything but the blue ones all said custom on a little sticker on the device
