Both Google & Vlingo work great for me on this device. (Much better than S Voice) I suggest giving these two a try until they polish up S Voice a bit more.

C, does Vlingo InCar work for you? It crashes every time I try to use it. It was one of my most useful apps on the DX, but I'm having no luck with it on the SIII.

It works great in the car for me, although I've only used it a few times that way. Another great assistant that has come a long way since it first came out is, Speaktoit Assistant. See how that one works for you.

I tried it, didnt like it much. Google's voice recognition is much butter but Siri is still better... for now

I actually saw a deal on YouTube, and Google and s voice were better than Siri, although I think it was s voice on JellyBean

It works for me, but I don't have much of an accent. I imagine people from Georgia, Texas, and Massachusetts are having more of an issue. My tips are keep the phone about eight inches from your mouth, make sure you're not covering the microphone hole on the bottom, enunciate but don't over-enunciate, and make sure you're saying off instead of of, etc.

I saw the same video, it was JellyBean and it was the new "Google Now" interface which has some major improvements.

Yeah, thats the one, I about fell out of my chair laughing everytime Siri would ask about the stallions. that is one of Siri's major bugs, it gets caught up in prior unfinished requests. One time I was tormenting Siri on my friend's iPhone and i asked "Who's the black private Dick that's a sex machine to all the chicks?" instead of responding with "Shaft" Siri kept trying to find sex toys, which ended up being more amusing
