mobile hotspot?

I see if I try to turn on my hotspot, it says you have to call a #. Do you get charged to use this phone as a hotspot? Id like to run my laptop when Im camping or away.

Yes you will get charged for using the hot spot feature that comes with your S3. Check the Play store for Foxfi, free for non rooted users. Other options available for rooted users.

There are some great root apps for wireless tethering like CR6 said. There are also a lot of USB tehthering apps out there that work on stock unrooted devices. If you don't mind having them tied together.

I use FoxFi from the Play store, it works great, if you have unlimited data it should be no issue for you.

Depends of what you are viewing on the PC, but if you only have two Gb's I would be cautious.

I am not rooted yet. I used Foxfi to run the laptop computers at a triathlon I timed last week. It works great.

I just tried the stock hotspot, and it worked great.

Any hot spot uses data . That's how they work . I have unlimited data so I don't care how much I use
