    3GA (.3ga) audio file

Using my GS3, I recorded a 20 second+ sound clip to email (attatch) to a tech trying to help me trouble-shoot sound quality on an internet feed.

It took me FOREVER to email it to myself so I could email to him. When I tried to play it, my trusty error demon told me I didn't have any software compatible to play this file format on my computer. Googled it, and their are a bazillion options for converting (not used here as a techincal term) it.

I thought before I start goofing with it, I might get lucky here: Anyone have any advice for how to get that GA3 into compatible format, please? Thanks in advance!

I would suggest downloading a different app that actually records to a common format .mp3 or something equivalent. I had this same issue with my TBOLT in sending audio recordings to others....

Also a quick question... Why did you Email the file to yourself just to email it to the tech??? How come you didn't just email directly from the phone to the tech?

I emailed it to myself first because our tech help tends to bob and weave when it comes to helping trouble-shoot anything with which they are not immediately well-versed. If I'd sent that audio file directly, and they couldn't do anything with it because of the ouchey format they'd've ignored it until I started to really pester them. I wanted to make sure that clip worked on my computer before I sent it, and boy am I glad that I did! I began the troubleshooting process in [I kid you not] early September. So far they've kept me at an arms length verbally, so I'm now sending something tangible. It's BAD! We should be embarrassed we've steered people in to the site from which I've copied the clip.

If you have even an inkling you might be able to make some suggestions for troubleshooting, I've got an audio file you can listen to on your phone!

And, hey, my friend - Best of luck to you with your screen nightmare! Fingers crossed for you!

Well thank you for the well wishes on my phone!! It is just a waiting game now... Even though I am very tempted to just pay and be done but I want to know what Samsung finds out... As far as the troubleshooting on the sound I would need more info... It appears you have audio on a website and the quality seems to be very unsatisfactory... In that case I would point to the original file and or format.... You can always email the file if you would like and I can see what I can come up with...

Bless your big fat heart, and yes, Miller! You're correct re the website and quality of sound. While I readily admit I lean toward persnickety when it comes to the product(s) we endorse, that's not the case in this situation. Too may details - waaaaay too many detail over too many years - to go into. The perennial issue in hand speaks for itself. It sounds like I'm trying to pull in an AM station broadcasting 100 miles away, and have wrapped +/- 12 yards of aluminum foil around my radio antenna and several tall trees in my yard in order to do so (yes, I speak from experience harkening back 15 years or so).

Want to PM me with an email address to send the clip?
