    Just to update you all.
Google has saved the day and stop you wasting time and money on anti virus apps (see post above) that are not needed.
The new improved Google Play has built in virus checker for malware and virus apps, on the store and in your phone. So fully protected all the time. It will also pre warn if you choose a damaging app before installing.
Panic over, Calm down and carry on.

    Thanks Google.

Re: Do you use Anti Virus?

I like Lookout for the other features and the fact that it doesn't drain the battery. I often sideload apps from Getgar & Amazon, and having Lookout scan those before installation is simply a bit more piece of mind. There have been numerous articles out lately regarding viruses/malware & smartphones specifically being targeted. It's not the apps I'm worried about, but todays smartphone are like mini computers, and malware/viruses are very easily picked up through email and the internet. Sure it's probably not needed as long as you don't frequent shady sites or open own unknown emails, but a little piece of mind never hurts. Heck, it was just reported a couple weeks ago that Bad Piggies app was infected with malware if you downloaded it from the Google page. You just never know. I'd rather be over protective, than not protected at all.
....just my 2 cents on the matter.

I've got Zoner installed on all Droid phones to block callers and texts. Not for the AV function, but it is a nice cover your you-know-what antivirus as well.
