You should have seen the early FAOTD on amazon! For the first couple months I check everyday and collected a nice repitoire of apps. Most big paid apps that got introduced to the store were promoted by doing it(cut the rope, fruit ninja editions, plants vs zombies, peggle, bejeweled, pacman, moron test, kids books, all the office doc apps, keyboards like swiftkey and thumb keyboard to name a few). Now that the amazaon app store has big market, they don't do so as often. Basically, when the kindle fire was released... good apps ceased to be offered and reviewers have gotten insanely picky, stubborn, and inconsiderate. At this point I think developers FEAR the wrath of reviewers that leave 9/10 free apps with ratings below a 3. I check every once in a while now hoping to see a gem, but clearly amazon doesn't rely on it for users like it used to when it began.
