Another Droid X'r here, My DX never had a case because it is so well built. I will definitely get a case for the GS3. It is too flimsy I noticed already. Yesterday it fell 2 feet off my night stand and it hit the steel frame of my bed and put a very noticeable dent in the trim around the glass. If it had fallen a little higher the same way, I think it would have definitely cracked the glass. I need to get a case for it(assuming I keep the GS3)just haven't decided which one yet!

is there a TPU case that covers the volume and power button? if so, please let me know which. all I've seen are cases with cut outs for those buttons - not a huge fan.

What's TPU? But the Otterbox commuter case covers the volume, headphone, and charger ports.

I'll take a picture later on today of that case.

i'm a big fan of the otterbox defender case. a bit pricey, but well worth the money in protection. i have used them on my previous 2 phones (both iphones), and they really do seal the phone against moisture and dirt, etc. they make the phone a bit larger, but the case is actually a shell inside a rubber outer case. trying to find someone right now with them in stock (they seem to all be backordered until the first week in august, lol). never really considered anything else. i'm just uncoordinated enough that by the time i get the phone out of a sleeve, or out of my pocket, i usually wind up missing it, lol. at least with the defender case, i can wear it on my belt and get to it almost immediately.

Went without a case for a couple of days. Kind of felt like the phone was gonna slip out of my hands sometimes so I joined the case crowd. My old phone had a kickstand which I missed more than I thought so I got a case from Verizon that is a case with a built in kickstand/holster. I'm not doing the holster thing but so far I'm liking the case with the kickstand. It's actually better than the kickstand that my old phone had as I can plug in the charger and still use the kickstand.

Yes I have that same case so far I am pretty pleased I would say my biggest complaint is the kickstand is a pain to get out but... I bite my nails so kind of my issue. The power button is not as easy to push in with the case on.

On the PRO side I am running it without the back cover on so I have quick access to the battery and SDcard . Plus, it runs a tad cooler
