Cool Galaxy S3 Flip Cover - Thoughts

Well today I took delivery of my Flip Cover - in white. I decided to get the case today after my first "drop" of the S3 onto a hard surface. After checking it wasn't an insurance job - and finding no damage I thought "what a lucky boy I am" - and went straight to the case shop.

So - the case comes in a slim box - and consists of a new back to the phone, with a book style front cover.

The case attaches seamlessly to the phone replacing the original back cover. The new back feels stronger than the original and is certainly less "flexible". there is a less pronounced "hump" near the camera lens - even though the original S3 case is not a massive hump. It sports the same "Samsung" logo as the original and comes with a plastic removable cover.

The front of the case consists of a wafer thin piece of leather (of faux leather anyway) which is white on the front, and has a soft velvet like material on the rear (the part that comes into contact with your screen). It sports the "Samsung" and a "Galaxy SIII" Logo - with the nice slanted S - all in Silver lettering. It's nice to the feel and makes the whole phone feel much more "sturdy". It also gives something to hold onto when messing with one hand.

The front cover will fold almost flat to the back, making the overall phone no larger when in use - although it will not sit flat on a desk when this case is attached. The phone did fit in my car holder when the case was attached, although my holder is at the edge of it's size capabilities and I will be getting a bigger one to make it more comfortable (I had to slightly force the uncased S3 anyway!)

When closed it makes the phone quite stylish IMO - whilst still keeping the "badge" that you are sat with the leading Android smartphone (and IMO leading Smartphone) on the market!!!

I got one as well but didn't like it, just couldn't get into the having to open the cover to answer and make calls also thought it got in the road when trying to take pictures decided a good screen protector and well the back cover is changeable so that's fine.

Does the front flap stay shut when closed by some sort of magnet or clip? Or does it (as the name suggests) flap about on the phone.

I know Samsung have the two main colours out now of Pebble Blue and Marble White, and by middle of July they have five new colours coming. The colours are Light Blue, Mint Green, Pink, Lemon Yellow and Orange.

Thanks for that. Think I will get one. Quite like the idea of Orange outside and blue inside.

Also haven't seen anynews for the 4G version flipcase, but that could be because I'm outside the USA and the phone hasn't launched there yet.

Is there any tendency for the phone to come out of the case? What if anything holds the case to the phone? How about make, model, perhaps a link to the store where you bought it? Thanks

The case is a NEW back cover with a front cover attached. So you remove the back panel of the phone and replace with the case.
The flipcase can not remove itself from the phone as it is part of the phone once put on. Its not like the phone clips into the case. What you see in the pictures above is the back panel of the case that would replace the back panel of the phone.
