DBA CASES - "Just Like Glass" - screen protector review

I was the one that was chosen to test this product when Scott (SSHGuru) from DBA CASES, asked for a volunteer.

I've had this protector for over a month and I must say that this is a quality protector. It’s a wet application. I hate installing stuff like this (fear of messing up), so I had my brother do it. He work's at BEST BUY and installs ZAGG's (wet and dry) all the time. It’s supplied with plenty of applicator fluid to get the job done. Even though I did not do the install, it looked easier to do than the Zagg HD I had him install previously. It took a few days to cure, but that should be expected with wet app protectors.

It protects the viewing portion of the glass. I feel this is very beneficial if you are using a case. I was using a ZAGG HD, and for those that used ZAGG with a certain cases, you are getting bubbles on the edges of the S3. The case that I use most, is the Matte Blue Diztronic. I also have the Otterbox Commuter, and a VZN case. If you have that problem using your favorite case, you won't have to worry about it with this protector.

I like the feel of the protector. I compared it side by side, to my brother's HTC One X w/Zagg HD, and my cousins S3 w/VZN protector. This protector doesn’t feel like a plastic and it definitely feels smoother than glass. I have a glass dining table, and just for the sake of testing, I compared "Just Like Glass" to my glass dining table. I don't know how, but JLG felt WAY better, and smoother.

It doesn't leave marks from my nail and there is no orange peel texture. The Zagg HD had both of those problems.

I noticed very little smudge marks (Son playing with MY toys w/dirty fingers) compared past protectors.

Overall, this is a well made protector. It protects as it should. It is very clear and smooth.

Problem with zagg is they are usually cut too close to the edge of the screen causing peel up if you use a case. Also zagg tends to move with time. To Scott, we don't mean to offend by always comparing to zagg, but its the most popular wet apply protector and most of us have fell a zagg on our or somebody's phone. Sounds like yours is superior.

Is it square shape or does it extend vertically into the camera and home button areas. If the latter, is it cutout around these features?

It is a square, cut perfectly to the viewing portion of the glass.

I don't mind the comparison. ZAGG is a huge public company. I hope I can do that well.

We also had an independent third party test directly against ZAGG and destroyed them.

Testing with Laser Beams for distortion, regular glass of course had 0, Just Like Glass had 11.50, and Zagg had 666.
ZAGG doesn't even claim to increase the break resistance of the glass while ours has tested for an increase of near 40%.
In a wear test equivalent to putting it in and out of your pocket ZAGG showed wear after 345 times and our showed no wear even after 10,000.
ZAGG is more scratch resistant but at the cost of creating the distortion. And the difference isn't that great.
Just like glass screen protectors are stain proof. You can get makeup on the, dirt, oil, dye, etc... and you can wipe it off. ZAGG you can't. I personally tested ours with a black sharpie (not really the best decision looking back on it) and it did come off with a little elbow grease.
As far as being smoother than glass, if you use glass as the baseline Just Like Glass is 20% smoother while ZAGG was -147%. You can really feel it.
Ours don't have the orange peel effect that ZAGG does.

I wouldn't be doing this at all if I didn't have something that I would use and that was better than everything else.

I just need to market it well. Get the word of mouth out, get reviews etc...

How does the DBA just like glass screen protector compare to clarivue, which I am currently using and happy with, have used Zagg in the past but got tired of the orange peel effect look, never had any issues with bubbles on any of the screen protectors that I have used, I just have a special way of applying them, dry or wet, even the dry ones I use liquid with a squeegee. If you need instructions, feel free to ask.
Anyone can become a professional installer, LOL.

I've never tried the clarivue. If you are happy with it then that's all that really matters. I can tell you ours are better (which they are) and have patented technology. They have been selling briskly. Everyone who tries one says they do feel smoother than glass. They are also a hard protector - not soft like most others. Look at the feature list.
